It’s that time of year again where we get to announce the winners of our Second Annual Photo Contest, where we give away over $2,000 in cash prizes. I’m excited to say that we had over 500 entrants this year and some really outstanding photography to choose from. It was a tough call for the judges. We liked this year’s Grand Prize winning photo in part because it really shows off what we think the Sam’s experience is all about – eating great seafood outside, looking at a beautiful view in a casual setting and just really enjoying the day. Michael Berman from Menlo Park, who earned the $1,000 grand prize, really captured that feeling with this shot of Sam’s South Beach Bar patio, right at dusk.
My other personal favorite was this very simple but delicious shot of an oyster, ready and waiting, by Robert Sanchez of San Bruno, which took first prize in the BEST FOOD shot category. Yum.
